Remote Learning Opportunities
Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held on the third Thursday of November to encourage families to read together. This year, instead of holding an in-person event, a virtual alternative was provided to the New Berlin Pretzel Families. You can learn more about this remote learning opportunity on my New Berlin Library Website. While you are there, be sure to also check out the virtual bookshelves students are able to access to find books they can request from the Remote Book Checkout System.

There's an App for That!

I love TableTots as a way to use interactive "manipulatives" on the iPad. So much so that the creators of this app asked me to demo it during a Google Hangout.

PechaKucha - Freativity
|
In September 2017, I was asked to present a PechaKucha during the Pygmallion Fest in Urbana, IL. First devised by a pair of Tokyo architects in 2003, PechaKucha Nights have become an international phenomenon that use a simple concept to create big community exchanges. Presenters have 20 images and 20 seconds per image to share their ideas, works, and passions for a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds flat. Of all the presentations I've given over the course of my career, this by far was the most challenging!
